student goals:

business benefits:

  • Build job application, resume and interview skills
  • Develop work ethic and professionalism
  • Prepare students with career readiness and technical skills
  • Introduce students to local opportunities and retain their talent in Columbia County
  • Educate students about your industry and its career opportunities
  • Find great potential long-term employees
  • Reduction in training costs
  • Community building
  • Local economic development

"I am grateful for this opportunity, and everything that has come from it. As someone who has always had a full academic schedule and year-round sports, I would never have learned these skills otherwise. I am more confident in my ability to adapt, and am better prepared to go to college and enter the workforce. My hope is that many more students my age will be able to have a similar opportunity. As one of 3 females represented in this internship, I especially want to encourage young women to pursue STEM-related experiences such as this."

- Anika, OMIC R&D Pilot Program Intern
